Hi, I’m Uzma. I am a science writer, journalist, and medical student based in Washington, DC.

I’m currently a medical student at George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Outside of the classroom, I am a health journalist and science communicator. I’ve written for outlets including Prism Reports, Think Global Health, The Scientist, and the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I am interested in stigmatized diseases and populations, health policy, computational biology, and ophthalmology.

This website has examples of my work from the last few years.
